The Banks preparing for Opening Day rush

It’s time for another great season of Reds baseball at GABP. See the tasty treats you will be able to enjoy in this slideshow.

As Cincinnati Reds fans prepare for Opening Day madness, so are the surrounding businesses.
“We plan for it for months. It’s our biggest day of the year by far,” said Paul Goebel, owner of Holy Grail.

Goebel says Holy Grail will have extra staffing, along with extra food and beverages on April 1st, a day expected to be a very busy.

“This is our third Opening Day, so we’re pretty used to what we need to do, but it still is the biggest day of the year, and we cannot wait for it,” added Goebel.

Just around the corner, Tin Roof Manager Hill Hodges is just as excited.

“I forgot how many pounds of extra wings we brought in, because what’s better than some beer and wings. Luckily, they’re putting some support trucks in the back for us for some more beer. We’re going to need it,” said Hodges.

Tin Roof, a bar and restaurant, is relatively new to The Banks, opening for business last September.

“Getting all the staff together, getting them ready, it’s going to be amazing. I saw pictures from last year. This is our first Opening Day. We’re really excited to be here part of the Banks project. Couldn’t be happier about it,” revealed Hodges.

Moerlein Lager House Manager Rob Gannaway says April 1st will provide a huge boost in business.

“This will be our second year for Opening Day. First year was a super success. This year is looking to be even bigger,” said Gannaway.

Gannaway says they’ve made some improvements to meet the growing demand.

“We have a little bit of everything. We have the expansion, so I have more draft beer going on in the front. I have a concession stand right behind us that will have draft beer. I have tents that will have beer product under those. I have food, I have mets, brats, hot dogs. You name it, we’re ready,” added Gannaway.

The Reds face the Los Angeles Angels at 4:10 p.m. on Monday.
