The first AC Hotel by Marriott in the city of Cincinnati is now open at the Banks.
The 171-room hotel located at 135 Joe Nuxhall Way was developed by Winegardner & Hammons Hotel Group LLC and Eagle Realty Group, the real estate arm of Western & Southern Financial Group.
John Barrett, chairman, president and CEO of Western & Southern, said the AC Hotel is the latest in a number of projects that the company has developed in Cincinnati in an effort to make the city a better place to live.
“We’re excited by the role that we play in Cincinnati’s renaissance,” Barrett said.

Mike Conway, chairman and chief portfolio officer of Winegardner & Hammons, said the hotel was designed to take advantage of its unique location next to Great American Ball Park and in front of Smale Riverfront Park. The L-shaped hotel has windows all along the south side of the building.
“There is no better park than Smale,” Conway said.
While the grand opening was Oct. 27, the hotel had its soft opening a few weeks ago.
The hotel has 171 total rooms, including seven suites, 87 king rooms and 77 dual queen rooms. There are 12 rooms with wrap-around balconies, including two facing the city and 10 facing the Ohio River. There are another five rooms with standard balconies that face the city plus five rooms with Juliet balconies.
Each room includes coffee/tea, a mini-fridge, an in-room safe and complimentary wireless internet.

This space, which will be open seasonally and weather dependent, will serve cocktails and light appetizers. It has views of the Ohio River, Great American Ball Park and the Central Business District.
It can be split into thirds for renting out with space for up to 75. On days when the Cincinnati Reds play, the Upper Deck will open two hours before the first pitch.
The Courtyard is the hotel’s outdoor space. It provides seating and a firepit with a view of Smale Park, the Ohio River and the Roebling Bridge. There’s also a putting green, table tennis and cornhole for guests. It can also be used for events of up to 75 people and will be available year-round with tent rentals.
