Mexican restaurant and bar to open at The Banks

The Banks’ master development team of Carter and The Dawson Company and equity partner USAA announced today that Jefferson Social, a neighborhood bar and restaurant serving Mexican street food, will locate at the Banks in April 2013.

Jefferson Social will occupy 4,040 square feet at the corner of Freedom Way and Walnut Street. It will have unique seating for small and large groups as well as party-friendly communal tables with a bar featuring more than 25 bourbons and 16 taps rotating domestic and craft beers.

“Our focus will be on serving artisanal drinks with freshly squeezed juices and quality liquors, and serving tacos and nachos made with fresh ingredients,” said Tony Cafeo, founder and owner of Jefferson Social. “Customers will be able to enjoy themselves in a design and layout conducive to socializing, eating, dancing and partying.”

Cafeo is also the owner of several other restaurant and bar properties in Cincinnati, including Jefferson Hall at Newport on the Levee and the soon-to-open Incline Public House in Price Hill.
“This addition will help round out the ‘something for everyone’ development strategy we’ve employed at The Banks,” said Scott Stringer, executive vice President at Carter. “Jefferson Social will be a unique venue for Cincinnati.”

With this addition, and the recent announcement of Jimmy John’s plans to locate at The Banks in spring 2013, Phase 1A of The Banks project is now 91% leased, with only one space still available for occupancy.
