Jimmy John’s to open at The Banks

Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches will open at The Banks in April, filling one of only three retail spaces left in the first phase of the riverfront development.

“The addition of Jimmy John’s helps round out the ‘something for everyone’ atmosphere at The Banks,” said Scott Stringer, executive vice president at Banks’ developer Carter. “It will be another great option for those who are downtown looking for lunch or something quick.”

Jimmy John’s will occupy 1,147 square feet on the south block of Freedom Way. The fast-casual sandwich shop is one of more than 1,200 locations across the U.S.

It will join these retailers already open at The Banks: The Holy Grail, Tin Roof, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Johnny Rockets, Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill, Orange Leaf, Crave, Mahogany’s and the Police Welcome Center.

Also expected but not yet open: The Wine Guy Bar & Bistro and Yard House Restaurant.

Retail at The Banks already has brought more than 300 new jobs to the region and $600 million in investment, according to Carter and co-developer The Dawson Company and equity partner USAA.

The first phase of development also includes 300 apartments, a parking facility and a revised street grid.
