Carter names local real estate veteran as Banks project executive

For the first time since the start of the Banks project in April 2008, the project’s lead developer named a local project executive to oversee the development.

Carter, which serves as master developer for the Banks, named Dan McCarthy as project executive of Cincinnati’s largest mixed-use development. McCarthy has more than a decade of experience in project and construction management.

In this newly created position, McCarthy will identify and lead new development opportunities and assist Carter’s project team on day-to-day execution and project delivery. He’ll also support Carter’s construction efforts for Phase II of the project, which includes residential, retail and General Electric Co.’s nearly 340,000-square-foot office building.

“I grew up watching baseball at the old Riverfront Stadium and when I walk through the Banks and see the progress that is being made, I can’t help but want to be a part of this project,” McCarthy said in a news release.

Carter created this new position because there is a lot of activity at the 18-acre development with the second phase under construction. Having a Cincinnati-based project executive allows for the highest level of coordination with day-to-day execution, project delivery, marketing and communications. McCarthy’s position also is expected to help Carter identify and lead new development activities to expand the company’s presence in the Midwest.

Since the start of the Banks, Carter has had a team in Atlanta associated with the project that regularly has a presence in Cincinnati. In addition, Carter leverages local partners and specialists toprovide planning, operational, marketing and execution support.
