The Banks is in negotiations to land a hotel brand that would be new to Cincinnati, Carter Vice President Laura Swadel said Thursday.
Developers Carter and the Dawson Co. set aside space in the first phase of the riverfront project, just north of Christian Moerlein, for a hotel with about 200 rooms. So far, however, it has remained empty.
The developers aren’t naming the hotel but said it would not be full service.
In addition, Swadel said they’re being selective about filling the final retail space in the first phase, about 7,000 square feet that overlooks the water and park.
“It’s a special location, so we’re looking for the right fit,” she said
